calvin "cal" gabriel, born february 5th 1983, is one of the two protagonists of the 2003 film zero day. it is a found footage movie about two teenagers, andre kriegman and cal gabriel, who plan a massacre at their high school (which cal calls their "worst enemy"). out of the army of two (andre and cal), cal is quieter and conceals his aggression well when he is not around andre. cal harbors the same hatred as andre, but is more sadistic and "creepy". during the massacre, cal is more vocal and taunts his victims. in contrast to andre, he is less hesitant, even eager to take his life when they are done.

2-D, born stuart pot (actually stuart tusspot) on may 23rd, 1978, is the singer of the british cartoon band gorillaz. he has brain damage and is addicted to painkillers, resulting in a naive and distant demeanor. murdoc, bassist of gorillaz, gave 2-D his nickname for the two dents in his face left after murdoc ran him over in a car twice, causing stuart to lose both of his eyes. 2-Dβs eyes can change color with his emotions. in most earlier official artwork from gorillaz, 2-D's eyes are black (angry), and starting in 2018, most art depicts him with white (curious) eyes. he is a big fan of zombie movies and peppermint beverages.
